Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving in the chapel of Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston, for the Annual Catholic Appeal Bishop’s Court of Honor members. More than 500 attended the liturgy and reception that followed. The Bishop’s Court of Honor is a special alliance of Catholic men and women who have come together with the bishop to play a unique community leadership role in the work of the Church. Their willingness to share their God-given gifts with the Annual Catholic Appeal helps the bishop spread the faith by way of a multitude of ministries, programs and services. Members in the Bishop’s Court of Honor receive a membership pin and invitations to occasional spiritual and social activities with Bishop DiMarzio. There are over 2,000 members and gifts from Court of Honor members. They comprise over 40 percent of the receipts for the Annual Catholic Appeal. The Mass and reception is an opportunity for Bishop DiMarzio to greet and personally thank the Court of Honor.
