On May 2, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and the New York Blood Center recognized the parishes, schools and individuals in Brooklyn and Queens who made significant contributions to the 2016 blood drive campaign.
The Men’s Club at St. Columba parish, Marine Park, hosts four different blood drives each year as the number of donors continues to rise. Last year, there were 295 donations, compared to 116 the year before.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Daniel J. Marley was celebrated March 6 at St. Columba Church, Marine Park. He died March 2 in hospice care at home. He was 82.
A memorial Mass for Father Edward Kiernan, former pastor of St. Columba parish, Marine Park, will be held at the church, Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m.
