Sister Earl Mary Moores, S.S.N.D., a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame for 60 years, died Nov. 17 at Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton, Conn. She was 80.
Schools Sisters Open Chapter Meeting
Forty-five School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) from nine provinces around the world will gather Sept. 26 through Oct. 24 in Marriottsville, Md., for the 24th general chapter of the congregation.
SSNDs Will be Missed
Dear Editor: As a lifelong parishioner of St. Matthias in Ridgewood, I was saddened by the news that the School Sisters of Notre Dame are planning to leave the parish at the end of the school year. Since 1910, the Sisters have been the driving force of the mission of our parish school. Anyone who knows of St. Matthias School knows the SSNDs and the tradition of excellence they carry with them.
