A slain NYPD police officer was remembered as a hero 54 years after his death on Oct. 22, as his family gathered with police officers and military veterans to rededicate the headstone at his gravesite. The new headstone at St. Peter’s Cemetery for Patrolman Rocco Laurie acknowledges his service in the NYPD and as a U.S. Marine.
