Cajuste Still Hanging On to NFL Dreams

In the first episode, I happened to recognize a familiar name on a player’s jersey: “Cajuste.” Local CHSFL fans surely remember the name of former Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, standout Devon Cajuste, who played his college football at Stanford University, Calif., and spent time in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers and as a member of the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.

Holy Cross Star Off to Amazin’ Start for Mets

Jaylen Palmer, who recently graduated from Holy Cross H.S., has begun his professional baseball career with the New York Mets. Of all the 30 teams that could have selected him in the MLB draft, it wound up being the franchise located just 5.4 miles from his high school.

Rising junior outfielder Jose Silva, who plays baseball for Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, has made it through to the third round of the U.S.A. Baseball National Team Identification Series.
