Immaculate Conception Monastery in Jamaica Estates was the scene of a special day camp this summer. The day camp, called Care for Creation, taught children how to live out the principles outlined in Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical Laudato si, in which the late pontiff urged humanity to respect the earth.

St. Francis College Nursing Program Wins Thumbs Up From Federal Gov’t

St. Francis College was recently granted a 10-year accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), an agency within the U.S. Department of Education. It allows the college to continue to offer its nursing program to students for the next 10 years. It also makes the program eligible for federal grants.
