National Catholic Scouting Group Has New Name, But Same Mission

An organization that works closely with Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) to draw young people closer to the Catholic faith has taken on a new name to simplify things for families, according to its leadership.   

Scouts Offer New Patch Commemorating Father Capodanno

The Archdiocese for the Military Services’ Catholic Committee on Scouting has developed the Father Capodanno Activity Patch in honor of Servant of God Father Vincent Capodanno, a Staten Island native and U.S. Navy chaplain killed in the Vietnam War in 1967. 

Scouts’ Honor: Camp Stone To Bear Name of Bishop DiMarzio

A commemorative stone emblazoned with the name of Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will be unveiled at the Boy Scouts’ Ten Mile River Camp in Narrowsburg, New York, this summer, in recognition of his support for the scouting movement.
