Last weekend, I had the privilege to cover the annual Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y.
Repeat after me: Gil Hodges is not in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. A lot of people think he’s in already. And a lot of the people who know that he’s not in the Hall think he should be there.
Derek Jeter was enshrined Sept. 8 in Cooperstown.
Hank Aaron, who was baseball’s home run king for 33 years, overcame racism to make his mark in the game he loved. Aaron died Jan. 22 at age 86.
