Cathedral Prep Bball Preview

The Cathedral Prep, East Elmhurst, Crusaders varsity basketball team is gearing up for another season of CHSAA action. The team returns three players from last year: seniors John Postel, Mirched Saint Amore and Sagar Yadav. Juniors Liam Gallagher, Orian DelFierro and Tim McQuail will look to provide a balanced attack. Defensive help and rebounding will be provided by first-year seniors Anthony LaPorta, Emilio Cura and Brian Castro. The Crusaders will rely on juniors Jack Schmidt and Anthony Mark as well as sophomores Brian McCormick and David Mercado for depth. Some players were forced to relocate due to Hurricane Sandy, while others have volunteered in the relief effort. Head coach Frank McQuail called his team a hardworking, unselfish squad that is determined to form its identity on and off the court.
