The Brooklyn Diocesan Council of the National Council of Catholic Women hosts its annual Presidents’ Mass and Reception at St. Joan of Arc parish, Jackson Heights, Oct. 17. This year’s honorees are the presidents of member rosary societies. All women in Brooklyn and Queens parishes are welcome to attend.

This week’s Tip of the Tablet TALK Top Hat goes to Mercy Home’s Plant, Grow, Give Program, which donated 364 pounds of fresh produce to Carlos’ Legacy and The Inn on Long Island this year.
At various Mercy Home sites, residents and staff have small farms where they plant, tend and harvest fruit and vegetables. The produce is donated to the homeless.

St. Bernadette School, Dyker Heights, proudly dedicated its new St. Pope John Paul II Science Lab on Friday, Sept. 25. Msgr. Thomas Caserta, St. Bernadette’s pastor, blessed the new facility, before Sister Joan DiRienzo, M.P.F., principal, cut the ribbon.
Installed during the summer months, students now have access to lab tables, microscopes, sinks and other equipment that will enable hands-on learning.
