SFC Honors Alumnus James McDonald
James “Seamus” McDonald, a longtime parishioner and usher at Good Shepherd Church, Marine Park, received an alumni appreciation award at St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, Oct. 24. Admirers and devotees of Sister Mary Antoinette, D.W., a missionary and martyr, will gather for a Nov. 19 Mass at Montfort Spiritual Center, Bayshore, L.I., to mark the 50th anniversary of her death.
Born in New York as Ann Lucy Donniacuo, she received first Communion and Confirmation at St. Mary’s Church, Long Island City, before entering the Daughters of Wisdom. Costumes and Candy at St. Stan’s
Pirates, princesses and witches were easy to find in Maspeth last week when the Parents’ Club of St. Stanislaus Kostka School hosted a Halloween party with games, music, pizza and candy. While children in the younger grades donned their favorite costumes, older students helped parents facilitate the event by conducting carnival games and craft activities.
