Sister Ave Clark, O.P., founder of Heart to Heart Ministry, Jamaica, is being named “Humanitarian of the Year” at the Little-Neck Douglaston Lions Club’s 18th annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser, Nov. 23. The “Broadway Night” dinner dance will be held at Leonard’s of Great Neck, L.I., starting at 7 p.m. The evening will feature a full cocktail hour, open bar and dinner as well as live and silent auctions.

Help feed the hungry at Helping Hands Food Pantry at St. Augustine Church, Park Slope, by participating in a 5K Fun Run/Walk/Bike in Prospect Park, Nov. 22, 11 a.m., rain or shine. SJU Makes a Difference at Passionist Monastery

For the second year in a row, members of the Kappa Sigma fraternity from St. John’s University, Jamaica, volunteered their time this fall to help the Passionists at Immaculate Conception Monastery in Jamaica.
