St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy, Greenpoint, will host its inaugural Father Roman Gorowski Memorial Golf Classic and Scholarship Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 27 at the North Hills Country Club, Manhasset, L.I.

Father Gorowski was a longtime pastor at the parish who died in 2013. All proceeds from the event will be used to establish a scholarship endowment fund in Father Gorowski’s name for children attending the school.

St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights has named its first-ever head coach in the history of its new women’s soccer program.

Justine Lombardi joins the Terrier ranks after serving the past six seasons as the assistant women’s soccer coach at her alma mater, Quinnipiac University in  Hamden, Conn.

St. Francis announced earlier this summer that it would be starting up a women’s soccer program for the fall of 2019 as a member of the Northeast Conference. The launch of the women’s soccer program comes during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the men’s team at the school in 1968.
