The St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, men’s and women’s basketball teams recently wrapped up a trip north of the border to Canada. The Terriers met top Canadian teams in Ottawa and Montreal during the four-day visit, Aug. 26-29.

The men took on Carleton University, McGill University and Concordia University, while the women squared off against the CEGEP All-Stars, Bishop’s University, Concordia and McGill.

Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, graduates Quentin Holmes and Charlie Neuweiler recently squared off in the Arizona League after both having been drafted by MLB teams this past June – Holmes, an outfielder, by the Cleveland Indians and Neuweiler, a pitcher, by the Kansas City Royals.

Though it would have made for a great moment, the two did not face each other directly, with Neuweiler not appearing on the mound in both the July 21 and Aug. 28 games. The teams split the summer series at a game apiece.
