Sports Round-Up Oct. 15

>>Konchalski Showcase Held

For the second-straight year, the CHSAA held the Tom Konchalski Senior Showcase Oct. 4 at Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, as a way for college basketball coaches to scout the local Catholic League’s senior talent. Konchalski was a well-known high school basketball scout who died in February 2021 after battling cancer.


>>Remsen St. Honored

With the campus set to move to 179 Livingston St., St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, will recognize more than 50 years of athletic excellence at 180 Remsen St. with a series of events in November.

The month of celebration kicks off Nov. 12 with the Aquatics Celebration in which the school’s Aquatics Center, Genovesi Center, and Pope Physical Education Center will be open for alumni, family, and friends to use these historic facilities one more time.

This event will coincide with the final men’s and women’s swim meets as well as the final women’s volleyball match. On Nov. 19-20, “Legends of Remsen Street” weekend will be centered around the final two home basketball games: one men’s and one women’s in the Daniel Lynch ’38 Gymnasium.

>>Alumni Volleyball

Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, held its first annual alumni volleyball game on Oct. 1.

Alumni members of the Crusaders volleyball program returned to their alma mater wearing special pink alumni T-shirts as they took to the volleyball court alongside the current varsity and junior varsity teams.
