Sports Round-Up Nov. 4

Emily Engstler, a senior forward on the St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows, girls’ basketball team, announced Oct. 19 that she will be playing college basketball at Syracuse University. As a junior, she averaged 19.0 pts., 15.7 rebounds and six blocks per game en route to being a nominee for N.Y. Gatorade Player of the Year.


Denise Trerotola, a junior women’s tennis player at St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, was named to this year’s Skyline Conference Women’s Tennis All-Conference First Team for the second straight year. The team captain, a graduate of St. Saviour H.S., Park Slope, set the program career singles wins record (18) and matched the season singles wins record (seven). She is the only Bear to receive the All-Skyline tennis honors to date.
