Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, soccer alumnus Julian Escobar, Class of 2005, has been called to represent the U.S. in the upcoming CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the FIFA Futsal World Cup. The tournament is set to be played in Lithuania from Sept. 12 through Oct. 3.

University of Pittsburgh sophomore men’s basketball forward Justin Champagnie, a graduate of Bishop Loughlin H.S., Fort Greene, received Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America recognition following the past men’s college basketball season. Both he and his twin brother, Julian Champagnie of St. John’s University, Jamaica, have decided to test the NBA draft process.
