Cathedral Prep and Seminary, Elmhurst, senior varsity basketball player Frank Camastro will be continuing his hoops career at the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx. Camastro also played for the Crusaders’ baseball team.


St. John’s University, Jamaica, head men’s basketball coach Mike Anderson recently received a six-year contract extension to remain the Red Storm’s head coach through the 2026-2027 season. He is one of only three active Division I coaches with at least 15 years of experience to have never had a losing season. During the past campaign, he won his 400th career game. This fall will mark his 20th season as a head coach.


After another successful season, the St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, men’s soccer team received a number of nationwide honors.

The team’s coaching staff was named the United Soccer Coaches Northeast Region Staff of the Year. The staff is comprised of head coach Tom Giovatto, assistant coach Andy Cormack and assistant coach Jason Orban.

Additionally, senior forward Nicolas Molina and junior defender Harald Sollund were both tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches All-Northeast Region First Team, while sophomore goalkeeper Callum James was selected to the Second Team.

This past season, the Terriers won their ninth Northeast Conference championship, which is the most in conference history. The team reached the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time and advanced to the second round this year.
