The Stanners won the Brooklyn-Queens diocesan title with a total of 101 pts. – 11 ahead of runner-up St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows. Molloy then went on to win the city championship title, with Fordham Prep, the Bronx, coming in second place.

There were some notable individual performances as well. Senior Todd Charles from Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge, was named Brooklyn-Queens Track M.V.P. after finishing first in the 100-meter dash (11.07 seconds) and third in the 200-meter dash (22.53 seconds).

St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows, enjoyed a special night at Citi Field on May 22 as the school community gathered for a New York Mets game.

Members of the chamber chorus sang the National Anthem, and then Chairman of the school’s English Department Robert Williams threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The L’il Terriers faithful enjoyed a late Mets comeback victory, 6-1, over the division-rival Washington Nationals.

The New York State Sportswriters Association named its annual girls’ basketball All-State team for the 2018-2019 season, and there was some great local representation from the diocesan GCHSAA.
