>> Msgr. McClancy Hockey Game

Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, will be hosting an alumni hockey game on Sunday, March 5 at World Ice Arena in Flushing. The game is open to all alumni, even if they did not play hockey at the school. Register online: msgrmcclancy.org/ alumni/


>> Honoring a Baseball Legend

With Opening Day of the baseball season just around the corner, the Italian American Baseball Foundation will be honoring diocesan hero and Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza with its Joe DiMaggio Award on April 4.

The event will be held at the Columbus Citizens Foundation Townhouse in Manhattan.

Piazza, who will manage Team Italy in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, is being recognized for
his contributions to Italian-American culture, baseball, philanthropy, and business.


 

>> Knights of Columbus Free-Throw Contest

Nine boys and girls from Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Park Slope, were named local champions of the 2023 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championships.

The five champions in the age groups of 9 to 14 will compete at the district level.

Holy Name of Jesus Council #4783 in conjunction with the Holy Name Father’s Guild sponsored the council level competition at the former Bishop Ford H.S. gymnasium.
