Sports Round-Up Feb. 20

A few CHSAA track state and school records fell at the recent indoor meet held at Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island. Bishop Loughlin H.S., Fort Greene, cruised to a new NYS record in the 4×400-meter at 4:15.08 – a mark that also ranks in the top 25 nationwide.

For Christ the Kings H.S., Middle Village, Darnell Paul set a school record in shotput at 50’9” (No. 4 in NYS), with Andre Francis just behind at 44’6.25” (No. 9 in NYS). In the triple jump, Christ the King’s Xavier Wright reached 43’7” (No. 3 in NYS).

The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Brooklyn and Queens is returning to activity with a diocesan free-throw shooting contest that will run Feb. 15-21. To mark the return, CYO held special Masses on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the following parishes:
