>> Rest In Peace, Pam Armour

Pam Armour, 87, the longtime CYO coach and sports director at St. Thomas More, Breezy Point, passed away. She is survived by her husband, Stan, and their nine children: Nora, Patty, Mary, Mona, Danielle, Stan, Danny, Paul, and Megan. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 28 at St. Thomas More.

Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, varsity girls’ basketball guard/forward Alexia Mousouroulis (center) recently scored her 1,000th career point.

A product of St. Kevin, Flushing, the senior and 2021-2022 Tablet All-Star is all set to continue her hoops career at New York University, Manhattan.


>> Pink Event

The GCHSAA basketball league held a special Think Pink event to raise local awareness about breast cancer. The event took place Saturday, Feb. 4, at Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood.

Both varsity and junior varsity diocesan teams participated from St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows; Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge; Holy Cross H.S., Flushing; Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst (varsity only); the Mary Louis Academy, Jamaica Estates; Archbishop Molloy; Christ the King H.S., Middle Village; and Nazareth H.S., East Flatbush.
