The Cristo Rey Brooklyn H.S., Flatbush, girls’ varsity basketball team served up more than assists on Thanksgiving morning.

The Panthers, led by head coach Anthony Alfaro, served meals to those in need at The Catholic Worker St. Joseph House in Manhattan.

Alfaro, a parishioner at American Martyrs, Bayside, began the holiday tradition six years ago while coaching at LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City.

The event served as a team-building activity for Cristo Rey Brooklyn, which plays in the GCHSAA ‘B’ Division.
