>> MAAC Honors for Marist’s Hot

Bayram Hot, a freshman infielder for Marist College, recently took home Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors after batting .615 with five RBIs and four doubles. Hot is a graduate of Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, and was a 2022 Tablet All-Star in addition to being named the Stanners’ team MVP.


>> Perfect Game

St. Joseph’s University Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, freshman softball pitcher Brooke Horn become the second pitcher in program history to throw a perfect game. The California native posted 11 strikeouts in five perfect innings during the Bears’ fiveinning shutout win against Lehman College on April 10.

The Catholic Youth Organization of Brooklyn and Queens held its boys’ basketball diocesan championships. Here are the winners for each division:

• Pee Wee: St. Mary Winfield, Woodside

• Novice: St. Bernard, Mill Basin

• Bantam: St. Bernard

• Rookie: St. Francis de Sales, Belle Harbor

• Intermediate Championship: St. Rose of Lima, Rockaway Beach

• Intermediate Competitive: Queen of Peace, Kew Gardens Hills

• Intermediate Developmental: St. Matthias, Ridgewood
