Sister Anne Carmel Rapillo, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph for 67 years, died on Jan. 6, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Convent, Jamaica.

Sister Anne entered the congregation from St. Joseph parish, Prospect Heights, in 1953.

She earned a BA in Math from St. Joseph College in 1968 and an MS in Math from Syracuse University in 1972.

Her ministries began in St. Michael, Sunset Park (1955-1958); St. Frances de Chantal, Wantagh (1958-1961); St. Mary Mother of Jesus, Bensonhurst (1961-1964); St Gabriel, East New York (1964-1965); St. Thomas Aquinas, Flatlands (1965-1967); St. Athanasius, Bensonhurst (1967-1970); Bishop Kearney HS, Brooklyn (1970-1981); The Mary Louis Academy HS, Jamaica Estates (1981-2010). She retired in 2012.

Her wake and funeral Mass were held in Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
