Respect Life Events in Brooklyn, Queens

In honor of Respect Life Month, pro-life groups around the diocese have special events planned during October. Here is a sampling:

• Rosary for Life, Inc. will hold its annual Mass at Good Shepherd Church, Marine Park, on Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The main celebrant and homilist will be Bishop Frank Caggiano. For details, call Wyn Powers at 718-377-6920.

• “Catholic Considerations on End-of-Life Decision-Making” will be the focus of a presentation at Our Lady of Angels parish, Bay Ridge, Oct. 5. Sponsored by the Respect Life Committee of St. Anselm parish, Bay Ridge, and the area parishes, the presentation will provide clarity on end-of-life issues regarding living wills, health care proxies, DNRs and life-sustaining treatments.
Guest speaker: Kathleen Gallagher from the N.Y.S. Catholic Conference.

• Resurrection-Ascension parish, Rego Park, is hosting a Respect Life Breakfast, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Father Feely Hall. For tickets, call 718-533-7898.

• The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants will hold their monthly pro-life Mass and prayer vigil at St. John Vianney parish, Flushing, Oct. 15. Msgr. Philip Reilly, founder of the Helpers, will celebrate Mass at 7:30 a.m. followed by exposition. Participants will then process to a local abortion clinic to peacefully pray the rosary before returning to church for benediction.
