OLQMCA provides a quality education for children while assisting in their creative formation. The educational program promotes spiritual and academic growth based on the gospel message.
Along with meeting all New York State and diocesan educational requirements, OLQMCA has the following enrichment and service programs: after-school program until 6:30 p.m., before-school program starting at 7 a.m., monthly liturgies, prep for TACHS Exam, reading remediation, field days, math bees, altar service, band, CYO basketball, student council, spring and Christmas musical revues, annual talent shows and youth group (grades seven and eight).
Each teacher utilizes a SMART Board for daily instruction. Grades pre-k to eight attend art, computer, library, music, physical education and Spanish class each week. Ninety-seven percent of graduates are accepted to Catholic high schools in the area. There is a full-time Department of Health nurse on staff.
Strong Faculty Base
OLQMCA is proud of its commitment to partner with families in the education of each child. This bond helps foster a true family-centered atmosphere. The academy is proud to boast of a strong faculty, many of whom have been there over 25 years and who provide a constant, positive presence in the children’s lives. A strong parent group plays an active role in the school community.
OLQMCA encourages students to explore their strengths and challenges through diverse instruction. The faculty utilizes knowledge of both student and community to foster an atmosphere recognizing the many cultures and customs of each individual. We strive to cultivate a nurturing environment where students feel free to express their talents. We provide children with the necessary skills for long-term success.
