Obituary: Sister St. Bonaventure Kelly, C.S.J.

OBIT_SrStBKellyCSJSister St. Bonaventure Kelly, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 65 years, died Jan. 18.  
She entered the congregation in 1948 from St. Lawrence parish in Sayville, L.I. She earned a bachelor of business administration degree in education from St. John’s University, Jamaica, in 1962, and a master’s in supervision and administration from Catholic University of Puerto Rico, Ponce, in 1973.
She taught  at Transfiguration in Williamsburg, 1950-59; St. Robert Bellarmine, Bayside, 1959-62; Academia Santa Monica, Santurce, Puerto Rico, 1962-69; Mercy H.S., Riverhead, L.I., 1976-80; St. Joseph College, Patchogue, 1980-2007. 
She served as principal at Academia San Ignacio, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, 1969-70; and Academia Maria Reina, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, 1970-74; and was a dean’s assistant at Catholic University of Puerto Rico, 1974-76. 
Her ministries also included Hope House Ministries and serving the congregation as an intervention counselor.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place in Sacred Heart Chapel, Brentwood. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
