Obituary: Sister Mary Kilmartin

Sister Mary Kilmartin (Sister Grace Michael), S.C., a member of the Sisters of Charity for 66 years, died May 29 at Mount Saint Vincent Convent, the Bronx. She was 83. Her only ministry in the Brooklyn Diocese was at Our Lady of the Angelus parish, Rego Park, where she volunteered as an English as a second language teacher, 2009–2011. Born in the Bronx, she was a faculty member for 32 years (1967-99) at her alma mater, Cathedral H.S., Manhattan, where she taught Spanish, then became dean of students, academic dean and principal. Her next challenge was as associate superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of New York. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
