Sister M. Gabriel Kane, I.H.M., of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died Jan. 17, at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she entered the I.H.M. Congregation on Feb. 2, 1942.
Locally, she taught at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, in Forest Hills, 1954-55. She also served on the faculty at Maria Regina D.H.S. in Uniondale, L.I., from 1966 to 1969.
She served as vice president for student affairs at Marywood College from 1969 to 1975. In 1975, she was named director of admissions at Marywood College and served in that position until 1984.
