Sister Jeanne Marie Kearney, I.H.M., (formerly known as Sister Coletta) of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died Sept. 1, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was 88.
Born in Scranton, she entered the IHM congregation in 1956 and made her final profession of vows on March 13, 1962.
In the Brooklyn Diocese, she taught at at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, Forest Hills, 1968-70.
In 1970, she began ministry in Lima, Peru, where she served for more than 45 years.
She also served as director of candidates in Peru for the IHM congregation, 1988-90.
She is survived by a sister, Sally Conaboy, of Clarks Green, Pa. Burial was at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pa.
