Sister Ann Patricia

Sister Ann Patricia Kelly, C.S.J., a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 62 years, died Aug. 9 in Maria Regina Residence, Brentwood.

She entered the Congregation in 1950 from Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, Astoria. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in social studies from St. John’s University, Jamaica; a master’s in social studies from Queens College; and a master’s in theology from St. John’s University.

Her ministries included St. Joseph, Prospect Heights, 1952-59; St. Brendan Elementary, Midwood, 1959-65; St. Clare, Rosedale, 1965-68; St. Cecilia, Greenpoint, 1968-69; New York Department of Correction, 1974-75; Blessed Sacrament, Cypress Hills, 1975-80; The Mary Louis Academy, Jamaica Estates, 1985-86; Bethsaida Spirituality Center, Queens Village, 1997-98; Resurrection-Ascension, Rego Park, 1998-99; and Our Lady of Lourdes, Queens Village, 1999-2009.

She served as principal at Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip, L.I., 1969-71; St. Martin of Tours, Bushwick, 1972-74; and St. Mel, Flushing, 1980-85; and assistant principal at St. Edmund H.S., Sheepshead Bay, 1986-95.

In 2009, she retired to Sacred Heart Convent, Hempstead, L.I.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 13 in Sacred Heart Chapel, Brentwood. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
