New TV Series Will Refresh Faith

As Americans are bombarded with bad news, New Evangelization Television (NET) comes to the rescue with the uplifting series “Refreshing Faith.” Hosted by Johanna Botta, the series will showcase people and organizations who improve lives by incorporating faith and humanity.

BottaStarting Oct. 16, the six-part series airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., plus Sundays at 9 a.m.

NET is available on Cablevision Ch. 30 and Time Warner Cable Ch. 97. NET programs also are on Verizon FiOS On Demand. To watch on Verizon FiOS, select the “Religion” folder, then “NET Catholic.”

The schedule includes:

Oct. 16: Interviews with the Sisters of Life, who take their faith to the streets of New York, support pregnant women in crisis and provide post-abortion healing retreats.

Oct. 23: October is National Depression Awareness Month and the show examines what the Church, priests, therapists and laypeople can do to treat psychological depression. Guests are Dr. Philip Mango, licensed psychotherapist and president of the St. Michael’s Institute, a clinic which integrates psychology, psychiatry and theology, as well as Msgr. John Cihak, co-author of the newly released book “The Catholic Guide to Depression.”
