Music at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral

Music at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights, will present the Metro Chamber Orchestra, Friday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m., with an array of upcoming classical talent under the direction of artistic director Philip Nuzzo.

Canadian violinist Christina Bouey joins Maestro Nuzzo for Mozart’s Concerto No. 5 “The Turkish.”

Claude Debussy’s award-winning “The Prodigal Son” will be presented, featuring Greek soprano Eleni Calenos as the Sorrowful Mother and tenor Marcos Vigil in the title role.

The program also will include Dr. Ronald Cross’ setting of Jubilate Deo and the Four Songs from the Japanese, based on a haiku.

The program is free and open to the general public. A free-will offering will be encouraged.

Music at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral also will include selections from Handel’s Messiah on Friday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m.
