Massacre in South Carolina

Dear Editor: “I pledge allegiance to the world to cherish every living thing, to care for Earth, and sea and air, with peace and freedom everywhere.” Beautiful words written by Lillian Genser, but, very hard to think that can truly ever transpire, as we witnessed the South Carolina Massacre, in a church where people came to pray, and worship, only to be tainted by a senseless act of violence.

No one truly can know what made this person do this terrible act against everything we hold sacred, especially where people go to be alone to pray! It is sad to even think that no place today is spared from the evilness that exists in this world.

I truly believe that people do these things to others because they so hate themselves and life in general, and they feel this need to make sure that everyone else’s life should be as miserable as theirs!

If only this world could be different, something that we all hope and wish for, where people can start to love one another again, to put their differences aside, to stop and realize that we are all one in the same, and that life can be beautiful only if we stop the hate, stop trying to change what God wanted for all of us – love, peace and tranquility.  Sadly, we will never accomplish any of these things as long as we continue to see these types of horrific killings and hate of the human race!
