Thank You, Sister Elizabeth
Dear Editor: I was fascinated by Sister Elizabeth’s answers to all the questions asked by second grade students (“Ask Sister Elizabeth,” Dec. 21 edition of Tablet, Jr.).
Her reply to Mia Ambrosino’s question on why God picked Mary to be Jesus’ mom was simple, but very profound and inspiring. She briefly explained the “Incarnation” and the “Annunciation.” She said that God picked Mary to be the mother of Jesus because Mary was obedient and respectful to God.
Sister Elizabeth gave a very good lesson to Mia by saying to her that “God wants her to be like Mary — to be obedient and respectful to God by being obedient and respectful to her parents.”
Sister Elizabeth answered Lucas Guerrero’s question on how to become a nun by simply telling the story of her vocation as a nun. This was first-hand information and more impressive.
Another question came from Scarlet Runge on how to learn to become a priest. Sister Elizabeth stated, “You learn to be a priest by learning to pray and serve people in the Church; by talking to a priest about the ministry; and God must call that person.”
Thank you, Sister Elizabeth, for your wisdom and knowledge that will encourage and inspire the younger generation.

A Very Bright Christmas Season
Dear Editor: I hope this letter finds you well. We are reminded of the enduring love and grace of Jesus Christ, who listens to our prayers and strengthens us when we hold fast to our faith. This year, at Our Lady of Solace, we have the heartfelt mission of making Christmas truly magical for the students we serve.
Many of these young children face challenges but despite their circumstances, they remain hopeful and resilient, finding strength in their faith and hope in brighter days to come. Christmas is a special season for all! Thanks to the generous support of the Bright Christmas Fund, we were able to provide our students with a festive celebration filled with joy, thoughtful gifts, and cherished moments.
Together, through faith and compassion, we can show these children that they are never alone and their community stands with them. Thank you for this opportunity to bring joy and hope to our students this Christmas season. May our Lord Jesus bless you for your kindness and steadfast faith.

Dear Editor: Once again, I am writing to thank The Tablet Bright Christmas Fund for their holiday consideration. As the recent news segment on Currents News stated, we are providing more and more meals and supplies to individuals and families in need, especially at this time of year.
As part of our mission, we never turned anyone away and we thank you for helping us in keeping this tradition alive. Your gift allowed us to provide a bright Christmas for children and adults alike. Whether it’s a hot meal or a special toy for a child, your help was greatly appreciated. With gratitude …

A Thank You to The Tablet
Dear Editor: What a tremendous gift it is for us and our Catholic brothers and sisters to enjoy your publication every week. We are appreciative that you have printed our letters over the years. You have helped us inspire our children and grandchildren who we constantly taught to always speak up in defense of our country and religion.
