Korean Bishop Visits Long Island City

On his way back from the Philadelphia World Meeting of Families, Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-Kil, head of the Daegu Archdiocese in South Korea, stopped at St. Raphael’s Church, Long Island City, to celebrate Mass with the members of the Korean Martyrs Apostolate on the parish’s patronal feast of St. Raphael. He is shown with Father Byungsu (Luke) Kim, parochial vicar, and Father Jerry Jecewiz, pastor of St. Raphael’s, and also in a group photo with Apostolate members, who will be celebrating their 25th year of existence in the Brooklyn Diocese in 2016.
