Former U.S. Rep. John Dingell, who represented Michigan’s 12th Congressional District for more than 59 years, making him the longest serving member of Congress in U.S. history, died Feb. 7 at his home in Dearborn, Mich., at age 92.

He retired in 2014 and last year was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had metastasized.
