An opportunity is fast approaching to help Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers are needed to roll up their sleeves and help transform a house into affordable housing for a family in need. The next rebuilding date is Jan. 5 in Southeast Queens. Some work will include demolition of the house to its structural shell, digging out the basement foundation, framing and other carpentry, sheetrock, flooring or painting.
