Dear Editor: Your Nov. 14 issue congratulated the 25th anniversary class of Brooklyn’s permanent deacons. It was my pleasure to teach Sacred Scripture to that class and it is my pleasure to congratulate them as well.

What a splendid group they were during their formation years, not only the men, but their wives and families also.

I remember especially their enthusiasm and their great sense of humor.

They have served our diocese well and have shared that same enthusiasm and humor in our parishes. Some have been able to continue active ministry, some have retired and some rest in God’s peace.

I pray a blessing upon them all. Thanks for the memory.
