Good Friday In Glendale

Residents of Glendale and Ridgewood marked Good Friday with a solemn street procession. Flowers are used to adorn a glass coffin bearing a life-size statue of the crucified Christ. Italian hymns were sung as the faithful escorted the casket and a statue of the Sorrowful Mother through the community, stopping at a local firehouse along the way.

Upon returning to St. Pancras, Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto presided over the Liturgy of the Word and veneration of the cross. Also on the altar were Father Francis Hughes, pastor, and Father Daniel Rajski, parochial vicar, and from Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal parish, Father Anthony Sansone, pastor, and Father Johny Chengalan Thomas, C.M.I., parochial vicar.
