Father Joseph M. Nolan, a senior priest at Bishop Mugavero Residence, Douglaston, is marking his 70th year as a priest of the Brooklyn Diocese.

Born in Brooklyn, he attended Cathedral College and Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington. He was ordained May 31, 1947 by Bishop Thomas E. Molloy at St. James Pro-Cathedral, Downtown Brooklyn.

The former pastor of Sacred Heart, Cambria Heights, he also served as an assistant at Holy Innocents, Flatbush, 1947-48; Immaculate Conception, Astoria, 1948-50; St. Michael, Sunset Park, 1950-52; Assumption, Brooklyn Heights, 1952-63; St. Vincent Ferrer, Flatbush, 1963-68; Visitation B.V.M., Red Hook, 1968-75; and Our Lady of the Snows, N. Floral Park, 1975-78.
