Foundations for Ministry, Fall 2016

This fall, the diocesan Pastoral Institute will offer its Foundations for Ministry Program in Brooklyn and Queens. The 10-week course of study is designed to meet the needs of adults who are discerning participation in the Lay Ministry Program, desiring a basic theology update or pastoral council members and persons responsible for implementing a parish pastoral plan.

Sessions cover: Theology as a Field of Study; Emerging Role of the Laity; Structure and Mission of the Church; Jesus: His Message, His Ministry; Sacred Scripture; Prayer; Liturgy; Moral Theology; One Church, Many Faces and Theological Reflection.

Classes are being offered in English at Resurrection-Ascension, Rego Park, and St. Matthew, Crown Heights; in Spanish at St. Teresa, Woodside, and St. Matthew; and in Creole at St. Matthew.

Interested adults are asked to register no later than Sept. 18.
