Father Robert Lauder and the diocesan Office of Faith Formation, School of Evangelization, are proud to present the 54th Friday Film Festival at the Immaculate Conception Pastoral Center in Douglaston on seven Fridays this fall.
The schedule includes:
Sept. 8 – Martin Scorsese’s “Silence” (2016), starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Liam Neeson
Sept. 15 – Norman Jewison’s “In the Heat of the Night” (1967), starring Sidney Poitier and Rod Steige
Sept. 22 – Kevin Reynolds’ “Risen” (2016), starring Joseph Fiennes, Peter Firth, Tom Felton and Cliff Curtis
Sept. 29 – George Cukor’s “Holiday” (1938), starring Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn and Lew Ayres
Oct. 13 – Mark Herman’s “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” (2008), starring Vera Farmiga, David Thewlis and Asa Butterfield
Oct. 20 – Jack Poplin’s “The Great Santini” (1979), starring Robert Duvall and Blythe Danner
Oct. 27 – Vincente Minnelli’s “The Band Wagon” (1953), starring Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse and Nanette Fabray
Films begin at 7:30 p.m.
The suggested donation for the series is $25, or $6 per film. Tickets may also be obtained at the door on the evenings of the festival as space permits.
Series tickets may also be ordered in advance by mailing a check payable to the Diocese of Brooklyn, Attn: School of Evangelization, 310 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11215. Be sure to include with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
