Sacred Heart School, Bayside, kicked off the year with its first Family Fun Day. The roots for this activity took hold last spring in one of the Mother’s Club meetings. The event was spearheaded by Alicia Alvero and manned by school parents and seventh-grade students. Principal Dennis Farrell enjoyed the afternoon with parents and students alike. He was extremely pleased with the turn out and how everyone enjoyed themselves. The event, which lasted from 3 to 8 p.m., featured burgers, hot dogs, fried Oreos, cotton candy, popcorn and soda. Seventh-grade students operated games for the visitors.
