Msgr. Joseph Grimaldi dedicated a shrine in honor of Mary, Mother of Life, Mother of Hope at St. Bernard’s Church, Bergen Beach/Mill Basin, Dec. 2. The statue of the Expectant Mary, the First Tabernacle, is a symbol of life and hope, a place where all can offer prayers for expectant mothers, those hoping to become mothers, those who have given birth and those who have lost a child. Candles surround this image of Mary to represent the light that she is – always present, guiding, listening and interceding for her earthly children to her Son. There is also a book for prayers and requests that parishioners and visitors can sign.
