Exercise Your Voice, Your Vote

Graduates, if you’re 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, now is the time to register to vote on this year’s general elections.

Here are some ways to register to vote this November:

Call the New York State Board of Elections hotline at 1-800-FOR-VOTE to request an application, go to http://vote.nyc.ny.us and download an application, or register in person. The deadline to register to vote is October 16.

If you live in Brooklyn, go to the Kings County Board of Elections, 345 Adams St., Fourth Floor, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201. Call 718-797-8800 for office hours.

If you live in Queens, head over to the Queens County Board of Elections, located at 126-06 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, N.Y. 11415. Call 718-730-6730 for office hours.

If you’re going away to college, you can cast an absentee ballot for elections that take place when you’re away from home. Or you can register with municipality you will be living in while in school.
