Excellent Religious and Academic Education at St. Francis of Assisi

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy is located in the Prospect/Lefferts Gardens area of Flatbush.

St. Francis of Assisi has educated children for 105 years in the Catholic tradition of excellence.

The school, which enrolls 300 students in grades UPK (Pre-K) through eight, follows the Common Core Initiative and is committed to including art and music to enhance the educational program.

Various activities, including school performances, oratorical competitions, music and instrument lessons as well as participation in parish events, develop and honor the many gifts of the children.

The school’s educators seek to provide students with an excellent religious and academic education.

A Goal of Justice and Peace

The Faith Formation Program enables students to develop a deeper understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus.

The academy strives to empower students to exercise their responsibility as Christians to work with others to create a just and peaceful world.

Following the Patron Saint

Dedicated to its patron, St. Francis of Assisi, peace education is integral to the academy’s program.

Formal teaching about St. Francis and his life story instill respect for earth and all God’s creation.

The school’s Peace Garden is a continual reminder of a commitment to creating a peaceful society with respect for all.

Tuition assistance is available through programs sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and the St. Francis of Assisi Alumni Scholarship Program.
