September 11 — 25 Years Later

“Sunday in the City,” a new weekly program from The Tablet, premieres with this special edition newscast marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

“September 11: 25 Years Later” takes a look back at the lives forever changed by 9/11, honoring the courage of first responders and survivors, and examining the enduring role of faith in the aftermath of tragedy.

This special newscast features:

25th anniversary commemorations — from Ground Zero, where family members read the names of those killed, to the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, where Bishop Robert Brennan celebrates Mass with members of the FDNY.

Stories from survivors of Sept. 11, 2001, like one woman who escaped the 87th floor of the North Tower just as the South Tower collapsed. The shoes she wore that day are now part of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum  collection.

Reflections from Diocese of Brooklyn chaplains whose ministry took on a new mission after September 11, and who continue to accompany  survivors and victims’ families.
