Elizabeth L. Romano, 92, a former teacher at St. Ephrem’s School, Dyker Heights, died Dec. 24 at the Chelsea in Brick, N.J.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Englishtown, N.J., before moving back to Brooklyn, she spent most of her life raising her family and working, before retiring to Brick for the past 26 years.
A graduate of Mount St. Vincent College with a master’s in education, she worked as a teacher for many years in the NYC public school system and at St. Ephrem’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 2 at the St. Luke’s Church, Toms River, N.J.
Burial was at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J.
